Vacuum metallization of objects is used to decorate the objects, protect the object from wear and tear and also to enhance the functions of that object such as increasing the conductivity of poor electrical conductor materials.

Vacuum metalizing has various benefits to the users of the metal. Vacuum metalizing always results into a uniform polish on the object with minimal effects on the health of the user. This is because there some compound and metals that are highly toxic to living organism hence users are protected from coming into contact with them. Vacuum metalizing helps in producing highly durable metals that are not likely to contact water as well as air which triggers rusting in metals. Vacuum metalizing is also an environmentally friendly process reducing the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere.

Some damages likely to be encountered on the objects during the vacuum metalizing process include the objects having burned parts which lack the shiny color, the coating may be too thin making the object have distinct colors like green appearing and the objects might also be showing rainbow colors.
